Hello! Sorry for the really late timing today but here is today's Psalmistic Episode - Episode 28, and the last one to be on August. Psalms 136 - Of David. a praise psalm, that uses repetition. It is about thankfulness for the Lord's love, power, deeds, and actions for His chosen ones, and how He remembers and fulfills His made promises, so give thanks and praise Him! Psalms 137 - Of Jeremiah. This psalm of weeping is a sad one about the condition of the Jews in exile to Babylon. This psalm is an exceptional one about a sin: Pride. David wants to be humble instead of being proud and haughty. We should act and talk in humility but also be content. We should put our hope in the Lord, not ourselves. Psalms 132 - Of David. This psalm of David is a petition to God to remember him forever because of his righteousness and worship to the Lord, and he also repeats one of the Lord's oaths to David: that one of his descendants will rule forever - and that descendant is Jesus. Psalms 133 - Of David. This psalm is a psalm of appreciation of unity and togetherness. It is good when God's chosen ones live together and love one another - like in Church. The Lord blesses them forever. This is a very short psalm.  Psalms 134 - Possibly of David. This psalm of David is another v...

The shortest psalm, and the shortest chapter in the Bible with a whopping 2 verses. Weekly Sunday Sermon - Bible Revision

Hello! Today's topic is the entire Bible revised and simplified into a main big picture idea!  This is a short day since this is also the final day for this year (but next year is continuing, obviously) so there was some celebration. To put it simply, in the Old Testament, already at the very beginning, the Lord has promised Adam and Eve, who was fallen into sin, that one of their ancestors would win against evil and that people would be saved, but it would not be without sacrifice. Many Old Testament stories also point to the New Testament: The story of Noah's Ark points on how the righteous will stay (Noah and his family) but the wicked (The rest of the world) would be wiped out, for example. God's selection of certain people can be seen with his calling of Abraham and his descendants - Israel. After the Old Testament's events, there were four hundred years without any prophet or major divine deed. But then, John the Baptist called people to repent, making the way fo...

A praise psalm, praising the Lord because of all his wonderful aspects and attributes - His uncomprihensible forgiveness, His immeasurable love and compassion, and His extraordinary righteousness. He is just and slow to anger. Psalms 104 has a similar theme - about how He loves over His creation. Psalms 105 is also a simil...

Weekly Sunday Sermon - N.T Revision

Hello! Today's sunday school sermon was a revision of the New Testament in a game form. Today's topic is a bit short. This is what the theme of the New Testament is, shortly:  "How Jesus fulfills the promises and prophecies of the Old Testament.". And He certainly did! The New Testament has many quotes from the Old Testament - more than two hundred times, in the books of the prophets they had mentioned Jesus' coming - in Isaiah 9:6, for example, it talks about Jesus. In Isaiah 53:5, it predicts His death and suffering for the sins of others. This is the largest picture to describe the New Testament. This general theme shows us that God is faithful and all his promises are never "a chance to happen", but guranteed. Though this was the most general answer, my answer (because we were asked to answer before being shown the answer) was: "The New Testament is all about Jesus, his life, works, and achievements, - that is, saving us by dying on the cross, ...

Church History | ReformedChildren x PolledHistory

Hello! This is a summary of church history from Jesus until now, and this will be a fusion post of both history and religion. So Church History begins with Jesus' death and ascension by circa 33 AD. His apostles during the Pentecost gain the abillity to speak in foreign languages and they are called to preach and spread Jesus to the world. They begin doing this and they go to all directions to spread the Gospel. Some went to Egypt, some to Armenia, some to Asia Minor (Turkey), some to Assyria and Persia, and some even as far as India. The most influential direction of gospel spread was to Europe, Greece and Turkey. John, Philip, Andrew, Paul and Peter all went this direction. In Paul's journeys, he went to Greece (the cities of Philippi, Colossae, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus) and to Italy (Rome). The first European to hear and convert was Lydia. Paul then was beheaded. Peter's journey started in Jerusalem, north to Antioch, then Ephesus and Corinth, then ...

The Grace of God

Hello! A few days ago, one night I wrote a booklet called The Grace of God. Yesterday, I wrote it digitally and extended it, and this is the extended digitalized version: The Grace of God - Extended, Digitalized We see ourselves with too much righteousness. And I do too - badly. We uplift ourself and ignore our sins and point to others'. In actuality, however, we are not like this. We cannot see ourselves in righteousness, for we are rebellious. And here is why: The Lord has gave us His Son Jesus to be born a human, live a human life, and die just for others' wrongdoings. The Lord has given us many gifts to remember Him and praise Him, such as the Holy Spirit and the Church. The Lord should have already destroyed us from the beginning when we sinned, but instead, He had a plan of redemption of amazing grace beyond measure. And yet, we do what He despises. We always act accordingly to what He hates and has clearly warned us against. Imagine being given so much by somebody j...

Hello! This is the second version of the Bible: Summarized, where I have already posted the first part (The Old Testament - Summarized), and now is the New Testament summarized. We will go book by book.  Group 1 - THE GOSPELS The Gospels are four books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) about Jesus' birth, life, ministry, and death. We will cover the main flow of every gospel and then the attributes of each one. Two of the gospels (Matthew, Luke) cover the birth of Jesus (or John the Baptist first, for Luke). The Nativity story is quite well known, but here's a fact about it - three wise men did not visit Jesus, as we do not know the number of wise men, as the Bible never states the amount. After Jesus was born, King Herod wanted to kill him but He escaped to Egypt. After that, according to the Gospel of Luke, Jesus was shown to Simeon and Anna, who were faithful Jews who waited for the Messiah to come. Also in Luke (a lot of Jesus' early life is in Luke), he was left in the temp...

Psalms 6-10 - Daily Summary

Hello! This is Psalms 6-10: Psalms 6: Of David. This psalm was for the Director of Music, (which is, Asaph) and is about a character begging the Lord to give him peace and deliver him from chaos, and from stress and from the influence of the wicked. It is similar to Psalms 4&5. Psalms 7: Of David. This psalm is concerning a man named Cush from Benjamin. Cush is likely a relative of Saul who was an enemy of David. David begs the Lord to deliver him from his enemies again and wanting Him to enact justice.  Psalms 8: Of David. For the Director of Music This psalm is a psalm of worship and praise. It praises the Lord for His Creation, Glory, and Majesty and all he has done for us. It is a short psalm. Psalms 9: Of David. This psalm is a psalm of thankfulness. It thanks the Lord for his mercy and deliverance, his grace and gift. It is also a psalm of praise and hope. Psalms 10: Unknown. This psalm is hoping the Lord to judge and destroy the wicked, which he will and must do. T...

Book of Revelation - Weekly Sunday Sermon

Hello! This Sunday morning I was still in the GRII Bogor Retreat, so I went to the Sunday Service there, which did not align with the topics in the service in GRII Pusat (which was about the Book of Revelation) so today's post will be solely from me. Subtopic  1 - Theme Revelations is a book written by the Apostle John, who was the youngest apostle by the time of Jesus' ministry, and by the time he wrote the book of Revelation (circa 95 AD), he was the last surviving apostle left, as all the other twelve (Matthias replaced Judas, and Paul) had already died. He wrote this to all Christians everywhere. Revelations is the last book of the Bible. Subtopic 2 - John's Vision  On the island of Patmos, where John was exiled to after the people tried to execute him (but he did not die), John had a vision, a revelation from Jesus, where he was revealed many things. The first thing he was told was to write short letters to seven churches. He saw Jesus, or someone who looked like hi...
