Psalms 131-135 - Daily Summary
Hello! Today's psalm episode is Psalmistic Episode 27 - only three more to go after this episode! Today's Psalms that will be summarized are chapter 131 until 135.
Psalms 131 - Of David.
This psalm is an exceptional one about a sin: Pride. David wants to be humble instead of being proud and haughty. We should act and talk in humility but also be content. We should put our hope in the Lord, not ourselves.
Psalms 132 - Of David.
This psalm of David is a petition to God to remember him forever because of his righteousness and worship to the Lord, and he also repeats one of the Lord's oaths to David: that one of his descendants will rule forever - and that descendant is Jesus.
Psalms 133 - Of David.
This psalm is a psalm of appreciation of unity and togetherness. It is good when God's chosen ones live together and love one another - like in Church. The Lord blesses them forever. This is a very short psalm.
Psalms 134 - Possibly of David.
This psalm of David is another very short psalm and a praise psalm of worship to the Lord and also a benediction in some way. Not much to talk about since it is three verses long.
Psalms 135 - Of David.
This Davidic psalm is a praise psalm because of the Lord's greatness - He is powerful and He destroys the wicked and blesses the wise, and He is compassionate, forgiving, and loving. The idols of other countries were carved from the hand of man or began with their thoughts, and the idolatrous people will be destroyed.
That's all for today!
Israel (the Lord's chosen ones) put your hope in the Lord
both now and forevermore. Psalms 131:3
