Psalms 81-85 - Daily Summary
Hello! Today's daily psalms episode is Psalms 81 through 85 (81,82,83,84,85). This is the seventeenth episode and we're nearing the Psalms 100 landmark.
Psalms 81 - Of Asaph.
For the director of music (possibly Jeduthun). This psalm is a wonderful psalm of praise to God, and the reason behind said praise is the Lord's great love and deliverance of the wise, and all those who Fear Him, since He is Almighty and all evil will be destroyed by His punishment.
Psalms 82 - Of Asaph.
This psalm is a short psalm of petition to the Lord to punish the wicked and to bless the disadvantaged. For the wicked worship false idols that are made by their hands and will fall like man. This is a petition to God to judge them and snuff the wicked out,
Psalms 83 - Of Asaph.
This psalm has a similar theme to the previous psalm but it is over twice the length. It is also a petition to the Lord to destroy the wicked, for they plot evil and malicious activities, they gather and attack the wise. Asaph wants the Lord to greatly punish them like what He did to other wicked people of the past and to make them perish.
Psalms 84 - Of the Sons of Korah.
For the director of music. This is a short psalm of praise, praising God for He is Worthy of Praise because of His strength and love, his mercy and justice, and He blesses those who trusts Him and obeys Him and Fears HIM.
Psalms 85 - Of the Sons of Korah.
For the director of music. The Sons of Korah composed this psalm to express of the Lord's wonderful forgiveness. For we are very sinful and our iniquity is vast, but the Lord is Forgiving, His Love is Unfailing, and He will save those who Fear Him - that is, the Wise.
That is the seventeenth set of five psalms! Just three more episodes until Psalms 100 - the 2/3 point. Thank you for reading!
