Psalms 136-140 - Daily Summary
Hello! Sorry for the really late timing today but here is today's Psalmistic Episode - Episode 28, and the last one to be on August.
Psalms 136 - Of David.
a praise psalm, that uses repetition. It is about thankfulness for the Lord's love, power, deeds, and actions for His chosen ones, and how He remembers and fulfills His made promises, so give thanks and praise Him!
Psalms 137 - Of Jeremiah.
This psalm of weeping is a sad one about the condition of the Jews in exile to Babylon. It is a lamentation over how the Jewish exiles had remembered Zion and its destruction. But Jeremiah knows Babylon will be punished. But we know we must love and keep faith in God even in sad times.
Psalms 138 - Of David.
This Davidite psalm is a praise psalm to God because of His unfailing and uncontestable Love and Faithfulness, and how He is above all others. He endures forever and so does His Love, and He preserves the lives of the wise.
Psalms 139 - Of David.
For the director of music, Asaph. The Lord knows everything and everyone - and that Truth is reflected in this psalm. It tells us that the Lord knows all that we do, all we are about to do, and all of us even before our life began. The Lord is an all knowing, all loving, and all powerful God.
Psalms 140 - Of David.
For the director of music, Asaph. This psalm is a psalm of petition. David is probably in a dire situation while writing this psalm, for David is inquiring of the Lord to rescue him from evil and wicked. The Lord loves Justice.
That's all for today,
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
Psalms 136:1-3
