Reformed 21 | Behind The Scenes

Hello! Reformed 21 is a TV broadcasting channel available throughout the globe and a GRII-made thing, and you can watch theology related content. Yesterday I went to their studio and saw some stuff, and here is some information: It is 24-hour and they edit and compose all of the content. They have the schedule planned and only several workers. In the file room there are many files and documents to play.  They provide translations and give lots of work onto the editing. For example, when they display the sermon, they selects part when, for example, the speaker coughs, and they cut it out. All the information is on their WhatsApp group. I am inspired how they can work so hard to glorify God and I think we should appreciate their efforts into Reformed 21 and I now think that it is God finding humanity (through Reformed 21) not humanity finding God. Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (N.I.V) Reformed 21's content includes old sermo...

1 Corinthians 7,8

Hello! Yesterday I skipped my chapter so I'll do two chapters today. a. 1 Cor 7 Paul continues his rebuke on Corinth's sexual immorality problem by concrerning marriage and our obligationd once married. Paul says we should not have sexual relationships with anyone not our spouse and that we must fulfill marital duties.  Verse 10 and 11 says that a married person shall not divorce his/her partner. But if someone does divorce: that person shall not marry again, says Paul. Paul then tells us to stay in God's path and keep His commandments. Paul also says that marriags, though not a sin, can bring trouble, so he says to the unmarried they do not Have to marry. b. 1 Cor 8 This short chapter is a rebuke because of Corinth's sacrificing of food to the pagan idols and gods: This is a sin against Christ and we must know there is only one True God, and not obey idols of no existence.

Announcement

Were you wondering why I didn't do SFD yesterday? Well, here's why: I ran out of ideas so I'll skip one week and use this week to compile ideas. The strategy I used where the voter gives his or her own ideas is a bit flawed as tbe responses are unclear.

Weekly Sunday Sermon - 29 Sep: Sin and Fall (Genesis 3)

Hello! This week I learned about the fall and sin. We'll be focusing on two main points: the cause of sin and sin's consequences, and another point: about how God has a plan. 1. Sin is because we don't trust God enough. This point can be affirmed when we read Genesis 3:6. This verse follows a conservation between the woman (Eve) and the serpent. The serpent says to Eve that if the woman eats it, she will become like God, rather than dying (which God said would happen if they ate it). Eve then saw the fruit and it looked appealing, so she ate. Here, Eve is trusting her own senses - not God! This is the cause of sin - our lack of trust in God.  2. Sin hurts three of our relationships. After Adam and Eve rebelled, three of their relationships: their relationship with God, one another, and creation, which used to be perfect, was broken. Adam and Eve also had their consequences such as having to bear with fights, childbearing, and diffuculty of picking food from the soil.  2a...

1 Corinthians 6 - Summary

Hello! 1 Coritnhians 6 is about Paul's rebuke on two of Corinth's sins. First of which is that the church members fight, dispute, and judge one another when God is to judge. We should not be like them, do not put judgement on one another. They even have sued one another. As a church, we must not be in hostillity nor enmnity eith one another. Their other sin is sexual immorality. Paul explains the body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord. We must leave sexual immorality and adultery. Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit - do not defile them. We must honor our God with our bodies, as we were bought with God's Son.

Saturday Weekly Devotion - Psalms 14:2-3

Hello!  A few days ago and a few days after KPIN I was reading Psalms 14 as I usually do and came about the second and third verses that reminded me of something I heard earlier in the sermon during KPIN: that nobody seeks God. Turns out, this is Bible-supported! Psalms 14:2-3 states,   2-3 The   Lord   looks down from heaven      on all mankind to see if there are any who understand,      any who seek God. 3  All have turned away, all have become corrupt;      there is no one who does good,      not even one. In this psalm, it basically says "God tries to see if there are any human that seeks Him, but no, nobody seeks Him and they have turned away.". In KPIN, I heard, "Humanity does not seek God, we do not go to church to seek God! We only want his blessings. This is a bad thing, but it also debunks the statement "In religion, humanity is trying to find god". It is God th...

1 Corinthians 5 - Daily Summary

Hello! Today's post will be short but we're talking about something controversial, but it is the Bible. Before we start, let's see the condition in the church of Corinth. The city of Corinth is a sinful one and its sinful nature has clearly spread to its church, one of the sins that spread being sexual immorality. Particularly in this case, incestual relationships.  Paul has heard of reports of such wickedness in the church in Corinth, yet Corinth boasts in it, rather than mourning. Paul orders Corinth to repent and avoid the sexually immoral and to expel them from their church to stop them from defiling it. This chapter is quite short. Than, you for reading!

1 Corinthians 3&4 - Daily Summary

Hello!Yesterday I didn't do it so I'll do two chapters this time. 1 Corinthians 3 is all about the church and church leaders. Paul addresses again the division of the church and rebukes their division into factions corresponding to the leader they follow. Church leaders are only the Lord's servants. God is the one behind their success. However, as a servant of God we must be wise and careful and "build up" the Church wisely. So do not boast about human leaders. 1 Corinthians 4 first tells us to call church leaders servants of Christ. Paul cares very little of human judgement and the Lord is the one to judge us, so judge nobody. The second part in 1 Corinthians 4 tells us to follow good examples of people and to be disciplined. That's all for today!

KPIN - 2nd Night Sermon Summary

Hello! I'm in Bengkulu (and was for a day already) and i'm in a church event for 2 nights called KPIN. This is the summary of the sermon that was given on the second night by Stephen Tong. The original language the sermon was spoken was in Bahasa Indonesia.  The first thing he says is of a young Christian named Jack Kawira who has went to Europe to study theology and is waiting to become a doctor in theology. He learned the ancient Aramaic language that was used by Jesus Christ. And he is from Bengkulu, Indonesia. He gets champion place in theology and ancient languages. In Bengkulu there is not many churches but he becomes a diligent Christian. Thus, Stephen Tong is amazed and goes to Bengkulu. Stephen Tong has been preaching for sixty seven years and is very hardworking. Where does the energy come from? Because God watches over us. Stephen Tong was poor and his father died when he was young, but with God's support he is able to construct a huge GRII Pusat church and the ...

1 Corinthians 2 - Daily Summary

Hello! 1 Corinthians 2 is today's topic. The first few verses in this chapter continues yesterday's last topic about how the Cross is a display of God's awesome wisdom and love and how our faith does not rely on human wisdom but God's power. The next part of the second chapter is about how God's Wisdom is revealed not from human mind but the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is the revealer of the true godly wisdom. Those who have the Holy Spirit have the mind of Christ. Thank you for reading!

Q&A Forum #1

Hello!  LINK IN BOTTOM I've got this planned for quite some time now, but I have this new idea and experiment - I'll launch a google form where you can ask anything about any of my five blogs! And by next Sunday (Sep 29) I'll answer all the questions! This will happen every three months on the twenty third of that month.  How to answer the form? 1. Click the link 2. Type nickname (so you know its your question when I answer them) 3. Select blog of relation to your question (e.g ReformedChildren) 4. Type question 5. Submit FAQ ---- What should I ask about? Anything correlated to the blog. ------ Is there a maximum questions you can answer? I don't think there will be that much questions asked, so no, theres no cap. ------ What about the nickname? You can put it in your own real name or an alias. Nicknames are for both information purposes and so you know that this is your question! Link: https://forms.gle/tmci74322qi26Lny6

1 Corinthians 1 - Daily Summary

Hello! Today we'll continue with the epistle series and cover 1 Corinthians. |-------------------------------| 1 Corinthians Book Information Testament: New To: the Church in Corinth From: Paul Chapter Count: 16 |-------------------------------| Thats some basic info regarding this book. 1 Corinthians comprises of many of Paul's rebukes on the Corinthian church. 1 Corinthians chapter 1 starts with a greeting like all of Paul's letter do. It then continues with Paul thanking the Lord that the Corinthians have believed. Paul then continues by pointing out the Corinthian church's failures, wrongdoings, and sins. Corinth was a major city for trade and the time and had a sinful environment - Corinth was filled with temples that appreciated pagan false gods and the traditional Corinthian practices involved sexual immorality. Knowing of Corinth's sinful environment can make us realize maybe why the Corinthian church had so many issues. The first issue Paul tells of is the...

Romans 16 - Daily Summary

Hello!  Romans 16 is mostly commands to greet people and do certain things. Paul asks the church in Rome to receive and greet many fellow Christian ssuch as Phoebe, Priscilla, Aquila, Epenetus, Mary, Andrinicus, Junia, Ampliatud, Urbanus, Apelles, Aristobulus' household, Herodion, Narcissus, Tryphena, Tryphosa, Persis, Rufus, Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Julia, Philologus, Nereus, and Nereus' sisters - all of whom are Christian and godly. Paul urges the church there to watch out for false teachers and splits and divisions in their church and do not follow the ways that are heretical. Romans 16 is quite short, and is the last chapter of the book of Romans.

Weekly Sunday Sermon: God Takes Care of His Church

Hello! This Sunday is GRII's thirty fifth birthday so is a Combined Service and is about a special theme because of the event and is about how God takes care and watches over the Church. The first point introduced is God takes care of His Church. The Church is two thousand years old now (since the Pentecost) and God has preserved and is with the Church until the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Though the Church is persecuted, it continues. The persecutions even continue onto today but God is with the believers. He has promised to take care of the Church. The second point is about how God takes care of His Church because He wants us to spread the Gospel. One of the The Church's goals is to spread God's Word and evangelize. We also must act well and be the Light of this World, so others may see our new selves. Since the sermon today is in B.I, I can't understand as well, but that's a summary of the sermon today!

Romans 15 - Daily Summary

Hello! Today's post is about Romans 15: The first portion of Romans 15 continues last chapter's topic about strength and weakness in faith. Those whose faiths are strong shall not boast and help those with a weak faith. Jesus did not boast or please himself but sacrifice Himself! So teach one another and we should have the attitude of Jesus. Jesus' attidue is also one of acceptance of all nations and origins, including the Gentiles (non-Jews). The second part of Romans 15 is about how God has chosen Paul to become the missionary and apostle to the Gentiles, and He gave his life as an offering to be accepted and sanctificed by God. God chooses and elects certain people to spread His word. The final part of Romans 15 talks about Paul's plan to visit Rome again. He says he wants to so while travelling to Spain. Paul urges the Church in Rome to join him and pray for Him, as He is heading towards Jerusalem and Judea, a dangerous place for Paul. Thank you for reafing!

Devotion 21 Sep - Galatians 6:1-2

Hello! As the first devotion in our blog, we will try to study a simple two verses, that are short, but important and see how we can apply their lessons into our life. We're focusing on Galatians 6:1-2: Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Let's analyze first before we can see examples of its application. First, Paul tells us that when we see somebody sinning and catch someone that had commited a trespass, us, as a Christian with the Holy Spirit, should "restore", or rebuke and help change that person for the better, but with gentleness rather than rage. However, we should also watch ourselves - if you help others, you should've helped yourself too! And this is lawful. Let's see how we may apply this in our lives. Let's say you see somebody sinnin...

Romans 14 - Daily Summary

Hey guys! Today I'll also do one chapter because of lateness. I think from now on, it'll be one chapter a day. Sorry! Romans 14 is titled "The Weak and the Strong".  In this case, weakness and strength is not physical weakness or strength, but rather strength of faith. Someone with strong faith does many things, but those with weak faith only safe things. God accepts those with weak faiths. People believe in different things, and for example one person could say certain days are more special, and one person could say all days are the same. But the first is right, so do not judge one another nor threat others with contempt, for we will all stand before God's rightwous judgement. Do not judge one another or attack one another, for Christ has both died for them. Make every effort to do what is peaceful, and put God first, and blessed are the people who condemns themselves not by what he thinks or approves. That's all for today!

Romans 13 - Walkthrough

Hello! It's late today so I'll do one chapter only, just for today. Romans 13's first topic is called Submission to Governing Authoruties, encouraging us, to, just as we obey and submit to God, submit to worldly authorities that God has set up (family, nation, etc), and rebellion is sin. For God has chosen people to be rulers. And this is also why we should pay taxes. The second part talks about how loving one another fulfills the law. The latter commandments of the Ten Commandments are all about loving one another, and love does not harm. The final part is about how Jesus' second coming is near, so we should stop as much of our sin and repent before it's too late - do not procastinate with God. Thank you for reading!

Romans 11-12 - Daily Post

Hello! Romans 11, though includes various subtopics, continues Romans 9&10's topic about God's chosen people Israel. It starts with the question of "Did God reject Israel?" And the answer to this inquiry, is, no, He did not. Paul, a descendant of Abraham was chosen by God. Though some and many Israelites have gone astray, God has chosen His elect.  Israel, though hard of hard and sometimes rejecting of God, will still be saved by a deliverer, who will comd from Zion - Jesus. Israel have been hardened of heart until the Gentile nations have all heard the Gospel.  There's a four-verse doxology in the end. Romans 12 has many topics inside Romans 12. Romans 12:1-2 is encouraging us to offer our bodies to God as a sacrifice in an act of worship, as God did that to us. Do not join the patterns of the world but be reborn. Verse 3-8 tells us to be humble, not arrogant. The Church forms one body in Christ so we should teach, encourage, lead, and show mercy, and not bo...

Romans 9-10 - Daily Summary

Hello! Since the 4 chapters were quite long, I'm doing two chapters/day now. Romans 9 Romans 9 has a few parts: The first part is about Paul's Anguish over the Nation of Israel. In the beginning of this chapter, Paul assures his status as a true apostle who does not lie. He says he has a sorrow in his heart that has cursed him for some time and that he is so sad over it he would die if he could to assure it passes. And he would die for the sake of his own race Israel.  Israel was a blessed nation - God had protected and delivered them, and they received the Law and Covenant. In the second part it continues a similar theme about Israel. He is not sad because of the failure of God's Word - for God's Word certainly is completed. God has blessed Israel through His mercy rather than their humanly effort. But God is enraged against Israel and punished them after great patience. He shown his wrath because of Israel's boasting about the blessings they have received from Go...

Romans 5-8 - Daily Summary

Hello! Recap on Yesterday's topic Before we'll get to Romans 5-8, let's see the topics of the last few chapters Romans 1 - Sinful Humanity and God's Wrath Romans 2 - The Judgement of God  Romans 3 - God's Faithfulness and Righteousness through Faith Romans 4 - Abraham Justified by Faith Romans 5 First Part of Romans 5: "Peace and Hope". Since we are justified through faith, we have a special peace with God through Jesus. And we also have hope from our suffering and we have glory through our suffering. Hope does not ashame us but is rather God's love that is poured out into our hearts.  God has great love for us while we were sinners, as while we were foolish and unrighteous He died for us. So we are being justified by His Grace and Our Faith.  Second Part of Romans 5: "Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ". Sin entered the world in one man, Adam, and death came to everyone since everyone sinned. Everyone is a sinner and unclean as Adam was...

Romans 1-4 - Daily Epistle Summary

Hello! After Ecclesiastes I'll summarize the epistles. The longer Epistles I'll divide into more parts. The book of Romans being one of the longer epistles and we'll do the first quarter of the book, Romans 1-4 first and tommorow 5-8. |---------------------------| Romans Book Information Testament: New To: the Church in Rome From: Paul Chapter Count: 16. |---------------------------| Chapter 1 Chapter 1 includes a greeting and introduction to Paul. In verses 5 and 6 Paul states that Gentiles, not only Israelites, are saved and are also called to belong to Jesus Christ. The second part of Romans 1 is about how Paul has longed to visit Rome. In Romans 1:16 we learn it is through the power of God people are saved. The third and longest theme in Romans 1 is called "God's Wrath Against Sinful Humanity.". The sinful and wicked people here ignore the Truth of God's power and holiness. However, these people actually knows God but did not glorify or thank Him but ...

Weekly Sunday Sermon - 15 September

Hello! This Sunday I am not attending the usual one in GRII Pusat but rather another GRII elsewhere (because I am also elsewhere) which has a different topic in the Sunday School. However, the topic is still traversing through the Bible. They are currently studying the books of Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy. This week's topic concerns God's Law - His commandments and rules for us to follow.  The first point in today's theme is something we know from a meticulous analysis: by studying Exodus 19 and Numbers 10:11, we know that the Israelites stayed in Mount Sinai, where the Israelites received God's Law, for slightly more than 11 months - about a year. And a year is a long time to be waiting for one thing. This means this thing must be important and valuable - God's Law is important and valuable. Furthermore, Moses had to hike Mt Sinai eight times, further proving that statement. Another point to be mentioned is the route of the Israelite exodus. In the book of ...

Ecclesiastes 12 - Walkthrough

Hello! Today is the last day for Ecclesiastes and covers the twelfth and final chapter. Ecclesiastes 12 is divided into two parts: Remember your Creator while Young and The Conclusion of the Matter.  The first part continues yesterday's topic. It advises us to remember God, our Creator in our youth and our young age before we enter the ages where we begin to stop finding pleasure in things and begin to mourn endlessly in our homes.  The second part concludes the Book of Ecclesiastes. It gives more information about "The Teacher", Solomon: it says the Teacher was very wise and wrote many proverbs of wisdom. These proverbs of wisdom are valuable, do not alter them. But Solomon also says that study and wisdom wearies the body and saddens us. But the conclusion of the matter is simply to Fear God and Keep His Commandments, for God will judge our every deed, He will examine our every activity. Thank you for reading! Tommorow will not be Ecclesiastes anymore.

Ecclesiastes 11 - Daily Summary

Hello! Ecclesiastes 11 is today's topic. Tommorow is the last Ecclesiastes episode. Ecclesiastes 11 is divided into 2 subchapters.  Subchapter 1 - Invest in Many Ventures Solomon knows that we do not know the future nor do we understand everything. So we should be active and at all times, as we do not know what will succeed and what not Subchapter 2 - Remember Your Creator While Young Ecclesiastes 11 says that we should enjoy our lives but remember that there are days of darkness. And young people should always know of the judgement of actions and the consequences of decisions. The youth should follow the ways of their heart, but they must remember God and what He will do. That's  all for today! Thank you for reading.

Ecclesiastes 10 - Summary and Walkthrough

Hello! We're at Ecclesiastes 10, the third last episode of the Ecclesiastes summary series. Luckily I could complete this episode early into the day. Ecclesiastes 10' entire chapter are a list of meditations about Ecclesiastes 9' last topic: Wisdom better than Folly. So let's begin Ecclesiastes 10 in a verse-by-verse perspective. Verse 1-4: These four verses compare wisdom and folly and their stark differences in consequence. The wise goes to the right but the fool to the left. In everything they do, fools lack sense and they have no honor.  Verse 5-7: Solomon observes an error that is evil, and that is wicked, and one that comes from a ruler: Fools are put in high positions while the rich occupy the low ones. Solomon has saw this in great irritation.  Verse 8-9: Solomon sees that we are always at some kind of danger or risk, no matter what we do. A wise thing to do and a thing to do all the time is to be alert, vigilant, and careful, as everywhere there is some danger...

Ecclesiastes 9 - Summary and Walkthrough

Hello! It's really late so this will be quite quick. Ecclesiastes 9 is titled "A Common Destiny for All". There is all a common conclusion and destiny for every person. The righteous and the wicked, the good and bad, the clean and unclean, and the God-fearing and the God-hating.  Every person has a similar destiny. Death overtakes us all and the living is better - the dead knows nothing and does nothing. So Solomon commends us to be joyful in the short life we have and to enjoy the result of our works. So be active. Another of Solomon's observations is that the "good" are not always rewarded with "good". Rather, time and chance happens to them. Another thing Solomon meditates on is on how we never know the time of our death. The second section of Ecclesiastes 9 is about how Wisdom is better and superior to Folly. Solomon tells a story: there was a small city with few people, and a king attacked and besieged the city. A man in that city was poor bu...

Ecclesiastes 8 - Summary & Walkthrough

Ecclesiastes 8: The first part of Ecclesiastes 8 continues last chapter's topic about Wisdom and how being wise is a good difference to being foolish. Only verse 1 is about Ecclesiastes 7' wisdom topic. The rest of the chapter is about a topic titled "Obey the King". In said subchapter, Solomon explains that we should obey our leaders and rulers. In this case, it is a king, since Israel was ruled by kings. Do not oppose or mess around with a leader above you, as that person can do whatever he/she wants. So, to avoid harm and damage, it is better to obey a leader's command. This is a wise thing to do. We do not know the future or have power over time time after our death. The latter part of this chapter drifts off from the original topic. Solomon says that there should be judgement to the wicked, rather than praise.  That's all for today! Thanks for reading

Ecclesiastes 7 - Walkthrough

Hello! Today marks the First Week of Ecclesiastes complete, and we are now more than halfway through. Ecclestiastes 7 is a poem entitled "Wisdom". The first meditation / stanza is about death, sadness, and mourning. Solomon says that death is the destiny of everyone and is normal, and that "sadness is good for the heart". This is because the wise mourn but the fools celebrate. Another meditation, verse 10, regards nostalgia. It says that if we miss the past for its supposed goodness, we are being foolish. Trust in God's plan for the present and future rather than obsessing over your past's pleasure or vividness. It also says that wisdom and understanding is a good thing that preserves lives. It is a shelter, just like how money is, but money does not preserve a life.  But Solomon also warns us not to be so-called "overwise" or "overrighteous". Solomon says jit destroys ourselves. But in the sane time do not be overwicked. Fearing God wil...

| Arguments against Evolution |

Hello! Before we start this thesis against Darwinism and Evolution, I'm going to elaborate a little bit first: When I was a bit younger, 8, 9, and maybe even 7 years old, I watched or read lots of pro-evolutionary (as now in this modern world most sources support it, and is almost considered a fact) videos, and for years I was pro-evolutionary. Just about a year or less ago because of my realization it wasn't inherently true, and it conflicted with Christianity, I became anti-evolutionary.  Still, I remain quite unsure, undecided, and I feel I must finally, once and for all, disprove the theory. So here we are now. I'll list as much arguments as I know. 1. The Biblical Argument Obviously, the Bible subtly attacks and warns us about this belief. But I'll refrain from using only the Bible to prove questions regarding whether some atheistic belief is true or no, so it is more believable, including for those who don't follow the Bible. 2. The Mathematical Argument This ...

Ecclesiastes 6 - Walkthrough

Hello! Ecclesiastes 6 is all about continuing Ecclesiastes 5 in discussing about wealth.  The first paragraph in this chapter is about how the Lord gives swathes of wealth, huge piles of possesions and much honor, to certain individuals, but they do not enjoy it, they want more and more, they are never satisfied.  In a way, toiling too much for wealth or material property is vain. Ecclesiastes 6 has a similar meaning to the end of Ecclesiastes 5 and is quite short, so we'll end it here.

Weekly Sunday Sermon - Genesis and Creation

Hello! Today's Sunday School for me is about Genesis, specifically the story of how God created the world. This is a very simple story but there's a deeper meaning to it. Everyone raised a Christian would know the story from a young age. But it has many other implications.  One of the implications is that God created the world, so He existed before there was anything, and thus all gods made by human hands are false. Another question that is being rose up with the idea of God before creation is "then what created God?". The answer to this question is that God is an everlasting Spirit that was never had a creation nor a creator. He is a creator but not a creation. Before creation, it was just God - there was not even darkness, nor time, nor space. Another implication with God's creation is that God, thus, knows everything about His creation and How to handle it. This means the Bible, his Word, is all-true and enough for us. Still, human creators of things, though us...

Ecclesiastes 5 - Walkthrough

Ecclesiastes 5 is today's topic and is titled "Fulfill Your Vow to God.". Let's begin! This ecclesiastic chapter has two parts, the first pme being how we should be formal when talking to God and doing anything for Him, be as Holy as possible and fear God, do not be informal or lazy while serving Him, and fulfill all your promises, vows to him. The second part is about how Riches are Meaningless. It begins with some advice on how those who love money and put it first in their loves is never satisfied, they want to grow more and more, but can never achieve it. Their wealth simply makes them more and more dissatisfied. Yet, we all come and go out of this world. Solomon thinks what is good is to find satisfaction in work, as this is God's gift, but if we are wealthy, they should accept it as a gift rather than just embracing it too much they become dissatisfied. Their greed stops them from reflecting on their lives. That's all for today! 10  Whoever loves money ...

Ecclesiastes 4 - Walkthrough

Ecclesiastes 4 is the Ecclesiastic chapter of the day, titled Oppression, Toil, and Friendlessness.  The first part begins with how Solomon sees people that are being oppressed without any comfort. When Solomon saw this, he declared that death was better than life. Solomon thinks toil is meaningless from this. He then saw another thing meaningless: there was someone alone, without any friend or companion, and he was greedy.  Solomon agrees in socialization and being in groups, since they can help one another in bad times and defend themselves. Solomon attacks three things in the first part of Ecclesiastes 4 - Oppression, Toil and Friendlessness. The second part of Ecclesiastes 4 reflects on how Advancement Is Meaningless, and is about how people will love a ruler who is wise but poor and young but be frustrated by one that, though maybe old or rich, is foolish, That's all for today!

Ecclesiastes 3 - Walkthrough

Hello! Today's Ecclesiastic Episode is episode 3, covering the corresponding chapter. Today's chapter is titled "A Time for Everything". It is about how there is a time and place for us to do everything -  A time to be born and a time to die, A time to plant and a time to uproot, A time to kill and a time to heal, A time to tear down and a time to build, A time to weep and a time to laugh. This has many meanings. The first one you think is that there is a time for us to do everything, there is a season for every activity. The second one is nothing lasts forever. Outside of this, Ecclesiastes 3 also relates this to some points in Ecclesiastes.  Solomon ponders, "What do workers gain from work?". Solomon understands that we can find satisfaction in work, as a gift of  God for people to fear Him. God calls our past to account and will judge us, He will judge our every deed throughout time.  Ecclesiastes is a book of poetry that is a bit abstract and more philo...

Ecclesiastes 2 - Walkthrough

Hello! Ecclesiastes 2. Ecclesiastes is a really diffucult, both to read and to accept, book that's also quite "negative" but it is in the Bible after all, and the Truth is often complicated or painful.  Verse 1: Here, Solomon has said that in his past that he wanted to test himself with pleasure to see what was good.  2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9: He applied things of pleasure: riches, slaves, lavish palaces and building to his life after building or finding those and he became a very rich king. However, he realized all this is too futile and can lead you to folly. Verse 10 and 11: He says again that pleasures are also meaningless.  Verse 12: He then considered wisdom, and also folly too and he began to think and analyze about it. Verse 13: He quickly notices that wisdom is much better rhan folly. Ecclesiastes 1 - Walkthrough

Hello! Hello! Today is the first day were're talking about the book of Ecclesiastes. Today will be Ecclesiastes 1 and by 15 Sep, ideally, we would finish this series. Ecclesiastes 1 Verse 1: The first verse of Ecclesiastes 1 is an inscription or title of Ecclesiastes. It speaks about how Solomon wrote it (it did not say the word Solomon, but "Teacher, son of David, and King in Jerusalem" makes us able to know this.  Verse 2: Verse 2 says "everything is meaningless", even "utterly meaningless.". This doesn't mean that literally everything we do is meaningless, but it rather tells us more like that God is more meaningful and should be prioritized over everything else.  Verse 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10, 11: These verses show us all our worldly items, riches, and pleasures ("things under the sun" is used to describe said pleasures, and is a figurative language phrase for God's creation) are temporary, we only continue in this world for one g...

Psalms 146-150 - Daily Summary + Announcement

Hello! Today, before the summary begins, we'll have a short announcement. ANNOUNCEMENT   Today is the final episode  of the Psalmistic Series (Psalms 1-150), which started thirty days ago. We will be moving on to the Ecclesiastic Series , covering Ecclesiates chapter 1-12. That will be chapter by chapter until 14 Sep (ideally).  DAILY SUMMARY Psalms 146 - Of David. (Likely) This praise psalm is not only a psalm of exaltation but advice for us - advice such as not putting our trust in humans nor fear them, but rather place our trust in the Lord. He is the Maker, Controller, and Savior, He is almighty but loving, and He is especially loving to the righteous. Psalms 147 - Unknown. Possibly of David.  Praise psalm again! Though you might be getting dissatisfied with the sheer number and repetition of praise psalms, this chapter itself also says that praise is good. It is mostly about how the Lord is powerful, loving, and praiseworthy. Psalm 148 - Unknown. This praise ps...

Psalms 141-145 - Daily Summary

Hello! Today's post is Psalm Episode 29 and about Psalms 141,142,143,144 and 145 and this is the second last psalm post. Psalms 141 - Of David. This is a petition psalm from David inquiring the Lord to hear his prayers - that is, make him (David) continue in righteousness and grow in wisdom and not be fooled by the tricks of temptation. David wants him to be more righteous and wise - something we should also strive to become.  Psalms 142 and 143 - Of David. This psalm is a prayer from David to God when he was in a cave, likely being pursued by Saul or one of his other enemies/persecutors. David calls out to our God during these dire times, asking Him to listen to his cry and save him. We should also pray in these times. Psalms 143 is likely a continuation of the precedent psalm. Psalms 144 - Of David. This praise psalm is about how the Lord is Our Rock, Our Stronghold and Fortress. We should not fear men, we should not fear mortals above the fear of our Maker and Savior. Take...

Weekly Sunday Sermon - The Bible: What is It?

Today's Sunday School academic year is a new one and now we will talk about the Old Testament but first, they introduced what is the Bible? The Bible has three special points they covered: 1. The Bible is God-Breathed. Said multiple times in the Bible, the Bible is God-breathed, meaning though humans wrote it with their own style of literature, God inspired them to write what the Lord wants them to write. The Bible is perfect and also useful. 2. The Bible is about Jesus. The second point is the Main Idea of the Bible - and that is Jesus. Though the Old Testament doesn't really inherently point out the word Jesus, it points to him in subtler ways. For example, how Noah builds the ark and a flood comes, destroying humanity besides those inside the ark, is reminiscent of Judgement Day and how everybody wicked will be destroyed, but those in Christ will be saved. 3. The Bible is all that we need for Salvation. The Bible is a "manual book" to be saved and is useful for tr...
