Psalms 141-145 - Daily Summary
Hello! Today's post is Psalm Episode 29 and about Psalms 141,142,143,144 and 145 and this is the second last psalm post.
Psalms 141 - Of David.
This is a petition psalm from David inquiring the Lord to hear his prayers - that is, make him (David) continue in righteousness and grow in wisdom and not be fooled by the tricks of temptation. David wants him to be more righteous and wise - something we should also strive to become.
Psalms 142 and 143 - Of David.
This psalm is a prayer from David to God when he was in a cave, likely being pursued by Saul or one of his other enemies/persecutors. David calls out to our God during these dire times, asking Him to listen to his cry and save him. We should also pray in these times. Psalms 143 is likely a continuation of the precedent psalm.
Psalms 144 - Of David.
This praise psalm is about how the Lord is Our Rock, Our Stronghold and Fortress. We should not fear men, we should not fear mortals above the fear of our Maker and Savior. Take refuge in Him and worship Him and He will bless you.
Psalms 145 - Of David.
This exaltation psalm is quite similar to many others throughout the Book of Psalms - praising the Lord for all his great attributes, such as His great deeds, His everlasting kingdom, His faithfulness and His righteousness.
That's all for today! The verse, Psalms 142:5
5 I cry to you, Lord;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”
