Ecclesiastes 3 - Walkthrough
Hello! Today's Ecclesiastic Episode is episode 3, covering the corresponding chapter.
Today's chapter is titled "A Time for Everything". It is about how there is a time and place for us to do everything -
A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,
A time to weep and a time to laugh.
This has many meanings. The first one you think is that there is a time for us to do everything, there is a season for every activity. The second one is nothing lasts forever. Outside of this, Ecclesiastes 3 also relates this to some points in Ecclesiastes.
Solomon ponders, "What do workers gain from work?". Solomon understands that we can find satisfaction in work, as a gift of God for people to fear Him. God calls our past to account and will judge us, He will judge our every deed throughout time.
Ecclesiastes is a book of poetry that is a bit abstract and more philosophical than most other books. That's all for today, the verse below is Ecclesiastes 3:2-8:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace. -
