Ezekiel 46-48 - Daily Summary

Hello! This is the second last day of Ezekiel. I accidentally did the wrong chapters halfway through, so I will do it invertedly (next is Ezekiel 43) Ezekiel 45 - 25 verses  IEzekiel 45 is about hte full restoration of Israel. Like the previous 2 chapters, there are a lot of measurements and numbers, but there is also some things we can grt from this chapter. This chapter is about God's holiness. Israel will devote a 143km2 district solely for God. God is worthy of worship. Ezekiel 46 - 24 verses This chapter is a meticulous explanation about worship festivals and offerings to God. Like the last chapter, this mainly demonstrates God's holiness, worship worthiness, and glory. This is mostly details on how rhe festivals should be held. Ezekiel 48 -  Ezekiel 48 is a division of the land just like in Joshua, but much shorter, and there is a special emphasis on the area decored to God and the Levite share. We need to also have a special devotion and share of our lives and tim...

Ezekiel 40-42 - Daily Summary

Hello!  Ezekiel 40 - 49 verses This chapter is about a prophecy of the restoration of the destroyed temple in the future. This prophecy came true by the grace of God and the Jews returned to, rebuilt, restored Jerusalem and its temple, and this points to another future restoration, the restoration of God's people to reconcile with him fully again. The last chapters of Ezekiel is a message of uope. Ezekiel 41 - 26 verses Ezekiel 41 is mostly details and measurements of the future temple. At first, this doesn't seem very fruitful for us Christians, because it is more about details and numbers, that even if you see the footnotes on most Bibles you will see that they provide lots of unit conversions from cubits to meters. but it can tell about how God's restoration will be glorious (detail can often suggest that is "better").  Ezekiel 42 - 20 verses This chapter has a similar idea to the last one. These are details about the rooms and walls and dimensions of the  ew ...

Ezekiel 37-39 - Daily Summary

Hello! This is the second last Ezekiel post. Ezekiel 37 - 28 verses This chapter is a well known one, about a valley of dry bones. Ezekiel went into a valley and there were dry boens. This was anothrr sign of sorts, God said that he would let breath come into the bones and they would come to life, and when Ezekiel did a sGod commanded and breath entered the bones, they became alive. This sign was about how the Israelite hope is not yet gone, they will be restored, and they will have a great king who is eternal. This is Jesus. Ezekiel 38 - 23 verses This chapter is about the judgement day, where God judges all the nations finally and in glory, and this will be ultimate. There will be lots of judgement and death to the evil, and God will make himself known. Many people make strange interpretations of this chapter, correlatng to modern Israelite politics. This is not correct, remember covenant theology.  Ezekiel 39 - 29 verses This chapter is similar, about the glorious destruct...

Ezekiel 34-36 - Daily Summary

Hello! Ezekiel 34  - 31 verses This chapter is about God as Israel's shepherd. Israel was the chosen people of God, and now Israel is replaced by the church. So, we too are the sheep of God, the shepherd. God take cares and finds us through his grace, he finds us, not we find him. This - humanity finding God - is a false misconception. Ezekiel 35 - 15 verses This one is a prophecy against Edom, the Edomites being the descendants of Esau who became a nation near Israel. God will punish these people, and they will be destroyed, because they were basically "laughing" at the problems of Israel, but they too wil be inflicted with the same punishment. Let's avoid the same problem. Ezekiel 36 - 38 verses Ezekiel 36 is about hope for Israel. Yes, they were crushed and mocked, but they will be restored and redeemed, they will be increased. As the chosen people of God, we will be restored from our evil ways and be consolidated forever.

Ezekiel 31-33 - Daily Summary

Hello! This is the fourth last Ezekiel post and after that, we are entering Daniel (Ezekiel has 42 chapters).  Ezekiel 31 - 18 verses Ezekiel 31 is mainly against the Pharaoh. At the time, Pharaoh was an importsnt and strong figure in Egypt, a strong nation, among the strongest, and thus must be symbolic for him to fall. In this chapter, the Pharaoh is described as a fallen cedar, a tree, of Lebanon, and cedars of Lebanon were known to be tall and is a symbol of nobility and strength. In the chapter, Pharaoh first is described as great and powerful, and reached a very high point above all the other trees, but was brought down. God is almighty, he can shake any political or manmade power easily. Ezekiel 32 - 32 verses This is also about Pharaoh. He was magnificent and powerful, like a lion among the nations, but God said he woul snuff him out and that ne would bring darkness and trouble the hearts of mant people. Egypt would descend into the realm of the dead, and all of them ...

Weekly Sunday Sermon - Ruth

Hello! Today, the next topic covered by GRII's Grade upper elementary sunday school was the topic about Ruth, following the curriculum. Because Ruth is quite short (4 chapters), it is all covered in one single lesson rather than being divided (for example, like Genesis or Exodus). There are three main portions in today's lesson, the Context, Story, and Application/Conclusion., this part about the importance of this story to us. First, let's read the last verse of Judges to gain some insight about the book of Ruth. Judges 21:25 says that Israel had no king and everyone during the time of the judges did as they saw fit, no one cared about truth or law, so there was lots of sin and disobedience. The story of Ruth takes place during the time of the judges, and in this time we know there was a cycle of disobedience -> judgement -> repentance > deliverance -> disobedience again. By the start of the story of the book of Ruth, Israel seems to be in the judgement phase ...

Ezekiel 28-30 - Daily Summary

Hello! Ezekiel 28 - 26 verses Ezekiel 28 is about a prophecy againsts specifically the king of Tyre. The king of Tyre was boastful and thought he was wise, wiser than God, and so God punished him, but this is not a "him" problem, its an "us" problem. Without realizing it, we often think we are smarter and wiser than God. God punished this proud person and  Ezekiel 29 - 21 verses This chapter is about judgement against another of Judah's evil neighbors, Egypt, first in the chapter God condemns the Pharaoh because he too was boastful of what he had, and God would punish him and Egypt would never be a source of strength again. From these chapters, we understand the severity of pride. Ezekiel 30 - 26 verses Tyis chapter continues the theme of the last, about Egypt, and is about doom, a strong and truly magnificent doom, if you can describe it as that, because God will completely judge the sin of the nations at the time, especially what was highlighted here Egypt. B...

Ezekiel 25-27 - Daily Summary

Hello! Sorry that I had forgotten to write the past few days. Ezekiel 25 - 17 verses Most long prophetic books have certain things to say about the nations surrounding Israel, and so does Ezekiel, first of these nations being Ammon, who God promised to exterminate and destroy because of thir malice against Israel. God will judge the nations, and this chapter also speaks about the punishment of Moab and Edom, as well as Philistia, which will be a avenged for their sins. Ezekiel 26 - 21 verses This chapter and the one after it is about Tyre, a merchant city which was very rich and to some extent powerful, but also bery sinful, it was idolatrous, and had very strange rituals, including child sacrifice. God said that he would punish Tyre through a siege an dit would be destroyed. Now, in the present, Tyre is an irrelevant place.  Ezekiel 27 - 36 verses This is also about Tyre, and is a lament, or a poem, because they (the Tyrians) thought they weere proud, and exchanged goods wit...

Ezekiel 22-25 - Daily Summary

Hello! Ezekiel 22 -31 verses This chapter is about Israel's sin and God's judgement, their disobedience and lack of holiness and faith. This chapter is about the anticipation of God's wrath and destruction. This is a common message in all the prophetic books. Ezekiel 23 - 49 verses Ezekiel 23 is a parable of two women called Oholah and Oholibah, and Oholah and Oholibah reprsent Samaria and Judah respectively. Oholah became a prostitute and became idolatrous, so, God punished Oholibah, representative of the northern kingdom, with Assyria, and then Oholibah saw this and became worse,  and even worse, and defiled herself, so she too was about to be judged like her sister. This is a parable of the sin of Israel, and the world. Ezekiel 24 - 27 verses Ezekiel  24, especially the second half, is about how God anticipated to Ezekiel that a delight in Ezekiel's life would leave but he mustn't mourn. The next day, his wife died. This was an example, Ezekiel became an example...

Ezekiel 19-21 - Daily Summary

Hello! To keep  things different and new from the usual topic (about judgement etc), I will do thr three chapters in one and try to find new emphases. Ezekiel 19 is a lament, especially about the sin of Israel's princes and the princes, "branches", are not fit as rulers. As we know from other books like Proverbs, fools make unfit rulers, and that they will be judged (verse 9). Ezekiel 20 is about God's judgement itself taking place, as they were being rebellious, disobedient, and practically ungrateful of what God had done, that is bringing them out of Egypt. We also often forget the graces of God and disobey, we violate the commands he has set.  Yet, in this chapter God also promises that Israel again will be renewed and sanctified, and this is explained with emphasis on how God will cleanse Israel in a harsh way, but then they will recognize Him. Ezekiel 21 then is about how Babylon is used as God's "sword of judgement", an instrument. Were the Babylon...

Weekly Sunday Sermon - Judges

Hello! In GRII Pusat, I missed two weeks, last week being about the judges until Gideon. This is the summary of their surmo  concerning all the judges after. There was a loop in how the Israelite people acted. They would worship false idols, then they would be judged, often by subjugation by another peoples, and then they would cry out to God, and God would answer through the judges, but then they would disobey again.  After Gideon, there were a two lesser discussed judges, Tola and Jair, twenty three and twenty two years. Interestingly, Jair had 30 children. Then Israel became disobedient and idolatrous, and the Ammonites took ocer, and Israel was in distress. This time, God did not let Israel be saved again because of the repetitive cycle of sin. God told them to cry out to their idols. The Israelites said that they have sinned and got rid of the foreign gods, so God saved Israel, and Jephthah was chosen as a leader, and he was a mighty warrior but was rejected by his ...

Ezekiel 16-18 - Daily Summary

Hello!  Ezekiel 16  - 63 verses This chapter describes Israel as an adulterous wife, thus this chapter condemns both Israel at the time and adultery. This chapter is about how God grew Israel and entered a covenant with them, yet Israel became evil and disobedient, describing Israel as a "wife". This especially condemns the intermarriages between Isael and the evil nations around it and the adultery everywhere in Israel. Ezekiel 17 - 24 verses The next chapter, Ezekiel 17, is about another parable God commanded Ezekiel to tell to Isrsel. This parable is avout a  vine that was planted on good soil by some powerful eagle, representing Nebuchadnezzar. But the vine was discontent and asked another powerful eagle, representing Egypt, for help. God uses this parable to refute specifically Zedekiah, which represented the vine. Ezekiel 18 - 32 verses This chapter is practically about the characteristics and explanation of God's right judgement. Firstly, it is about how the ...

Ezekiel 13-15 - Daily Summary

Hello! Ezekiel 13 - 23 verses The two chapters of Ezekiel 13 and 14 are about false prophets and idolaters judged. First, false prophets. These false prophets prophesy what is wrong and claim they have the word of God. This is not a "Bible times" problem but continues now. Many people claim to have the word of God. A good example is certain social media accouts that claim to have the word of God or even are God, but this kind of thing will be judged by God. So appreciate the truth. Ezekiel 14 and 15 - 23 verses and 8 verses respectively This chapter is about the sindulness of idolatry. This chapter tells us that even at the time  the Israelites were not neccesarily always saved, God is fair and scattered those who made idols. This chapter is also about the severity of God's judgement and that the people inside must he e judged. Ezekiel 15 is fairly short and is practically somewhat a metaphor, saying Jerusalem is a useless vine, because vines are useless.

Ezekiel 10-12 - Daily Summary

Hello! Sorry that I hadn't posted much yet, but from now on I think more is going to come. Chapter 10 Chapter 10 is another miraculous chapter, (Ezekiel has many visions and the likes), and is where God's glory departs from the temple after the previous miracles (such as the man in linen's judgement in chapter 9). This chapter tells us about God's magnificence and glory (v 4,5). Many people usually interpret the appearance of angels from this chapter, but that's not very important.  Chapter 11 Chapter 11, again, is about judgement, where God comments about the wickedness of Jerusalem, that is violence and death (v6) and all other kinds. At first, Ezekiel thought God would completely destroy Israel, but he didn't, and he promised that Israel would return. God also has mercy in judgement.  Chapter 12 Here, God tells about the exile to Babylon in a symbol. Ezekiel went to another place as if he was being exiled. God tells Ezekiel to perform many "signs" ...
