1 Corinthians 14 - Daily Summary
Hello!
Today's post about First Corinthians 14 tells us to follow the way of love and desire the Holy Spirit's gifts. Furthermore, it tells us speaking in tongues is useless if we are speaking to one another - we cannot interpret, nor can they! So what is the use of speaking in tongues to one another? Speak intelligibly in worship so others may listen.
Speaking in tongues is a sign to the unbeliever, believers should not use it to speak to one another. If unbelievers or those new to the church sees us doing all this, they will think we are insane and strange. Thus, speaking in tongues to other believers is futile.
The second topic is about how service and worship should be orderly, not chaotic. It should be fitting, not inappropriate. One of the things we must do to keep things orderly is to only speak in tongues to the Lord, not to one another. Only two or three people at modt should speak in one time, andd other people must listen carefully and think, "Is this really true?".
In verses 34 and 35 it says men should be the leaders during worship and service. Women should be submissive during worship and, if they have a question, ask their own husbands. Again, Service should be kept orderly, tidy and organized - as a chaotic service is not good.
