Jeremiah 28,29,30 - Daily Summary

Jeremiah 28: 16 verses

This chapter is about false prophecy and their consequences. In this chapter, there was a false prophet called Hananiah. You might have heard of this person before. He spoke in the name of the Lord what was wronf, that Judah's power and riches would be restored and retaken. He spoke of comfort and the breaking of the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar. We cannot settle for the comfortable lie, we must settle for the truth, how uncomfortable it is. Jeremiah heard what Hananiah sad and after God said to rebuke him, he did, and Hananiah died. This is God's fair punishment.

Jeremiah 29: 32 verses

Jeremiah 29 is a letter from Jeremiah to the exiles in Babylon. Remember that af this time there were two places where Judah was: in Babylon, while most common people remained in Jerusalem. Jerusalem hadn't yet be fully destroyed. This letter is a comfort letter and also a warning letter. God tells them to be righteous and not listen to diviners and false prophets. The comfort in this letter is a promise from God to bring them back after seven decades.

Jeremiah 30:24 verses

This chapter is aboht the hope of the prophesied restoration earlier. This is nt the restoration prophesied by Hananiah, which was false and heretical, but this restoration was after the wrath and punishment of God. God promised Judah  that their descendants will return to the land and there will not be complete destruction. This does not neglect God's wrath, as there are still mentions of it (verse 23-24).

People like to say "Jesus is coming soon", and it's incorrect: Argument Series #1

 Currently, a lot of people has reacted to the tension between the United States and Iran by saying "The end times are soon". Not only do they say this because of the "war", but also because of technologies such as artificial intelligence and Neuralink. In this post I want to challenge this claim.
