2 Timothy 2 - Daily Summary
Hello!
2 Timothy 2 is the second last and second chapter of 2 Timothy 1. Let's do a quick review of 2 Timothy 1m which tells us to be loyal like Onesiphorus, who will be rewarded by God because of his loyalty to Paul and to God.
In 2 Timothy 2, Paul commends us to be strong in the grace of Christ Jesus and become a "good soldier" of Christ Jesus, meaning we will suffer for Christ. We must devote and reflect our time for Christ and spread God's Word and we will be rewarded.
Paul then warns Timothy of false teachers. We correctly must handle the Truth, that means we must avoid godless chatter so we don't morph to become ungodly, untruthful people who had distorted and changed the truth.
We must cleanse ourselves of wickedness that we may become instruments - tools - for the master (God)'s work. This means we should flee evil desires and pursue righteousness and other virtues. We should be gentle and kind.
