Weekly Saturday Devotion - Ephesians 6:10-20

 Hello!

Today's topic is about Ephesians 6:10-20 about the "armour of God".

These verses tells us to be strong in the Lord. This means we figuratively, and not literally, "put on the full armor of God" to resist temptation or the "devil's schemes". We use this "armor" to resist and fight temptation and the "powers of the dark world" (Ephesians 6:12).

Paul attributes the armorpieces into qualities we need to resist and repulse temptation. The full armor is an armor of truth (belt), righteousness (breastplate), readiness from the gospel (footwear), faith (shield), salvation (helmet) and the Word of God (sword). And if you pay more attention you can see how the armorpieces can have some connection with said quality. Helmets can save us in times of trouble. When we fall, it mitigates damage. And "salvation" is about being saved.

We should also pray in the Spirit "on all occasions" and "with all kinds of prayers and requests". So, we should have these, and when we feel tempted, we should equip ourselves with truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, and the word of God.

Reflection Question: What armorpiece are you already equipped in? Which one are you not?
