Psalms 44 - Saturday Devotion
Hello!
Look at Psalms 44:26:
26 Rise up and help us;
rescue us because of your unfailing love.
Let's understand the situation of Psalms 44 as a whole first. It is more of a "sad"psalm, about the sons of Korah's complaint and dissappointment. However, there is a comfort in the last verse. And if we read this verse christocentrically, we can relate this to Christ.
As sinners, we in a dark situation. We are captives of sin. But this last verse is a petition for a rescue: a rescue because of God's unfailing love. Doesn't this sound like how God sent his son to this earth to rescue us because of his unfailing love?
God has already came and rescued us. He has already risen and helped us. In this case, in Psalms 44 it says Israel is in a bad political situation. But we don't have to worry.
Reflection Question: When you feel you're in a bad place, what is your comfort?
