1 Corinthians 16 - Daily Summary
1 Corinthians 16 is the last chapter of the second book we covered in the Daily Epistle series.
1 Corinthians 16 is short. Its first topic is a four verse topic where Paul encourages the church of Corinth to set up collections of money every week until Paul comes back to Corinth. They are to collect sums of money from their income as a gift. Paul and some men will transmit those gifts of money to Jerusalem. We should also be generous and give.
Paul goes on to give some of the personal requests of his. The first of which is a request to the Corinthians to support him on his missionary travels. He also requests the Corinthians to accept Timothy, a companion of Paul, well and without contempt. We should not treat others with contempt, but also differentiate them, to see whether what they say is valid or not. Another of Paul's requests is to stand firm in the faith, be loving, strong, and courageous.
Paul closes his letter with a final greeting (or closing) just like all his other letters to other churches.
