Hebrews 11 - Walkthrough
Hello! Today's chapter Hebrews 11:
Hebrews 11 is called Faith in Action, which is about confidence and assurance about what we cannot do ourselves but may act with God. By faith we can understand the Lord's power and that he created and redeemed us.
With faith, Abel offered a better offering than Cain did and was commended as righteous. With faith, Enoch was taken up to heaven since he pleased God, but without faith he cannot please God. By faith Enoch did this.
By faith Noah built the huge ark to save he and his family. By faith Abraham received the Promised Land. By faith Isaac and Jacob received the same promise as Abraham did. By faith Sarah was able to have children in old age. By faith these men (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) had numerous descendants and left their old land for a new, better one.
By faith Joseph was able to rise the ranks in Egypt. By faith Moses was adopted by the princess of Egypt. By faith he managed to leave egypt with all his Israelites and he passed through the Red sea - all of these were by faith. By faith Jericho fell, and by faith the judges conquered the Promised Land and was victorious.
None of these were achievable with only human hands. God's plan and power is greater than the plan and power of a human. That is Hebrews 11! The verse, Hebrews 11's last 2 verses:
39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
